Mrs. Das treats her daughter Tina in 'The Interpreter of Maladies' extremely bad, she is an absent mother. She is cold, irritable, and egoist with Tina. Ms. Das behaves in an appalling way with her daughter. As she tells Mr. Kapasi: [...] she has destructive impulses toward her children and life. So this sentence summarizes her awful behavior towards Tina.
