Polynomials may use:

  • Addition +
  • Subtraction -
  • Multiplication *
  • Non-negative numbers as exponents [tex]^{2}[/tex]

For example:  [tex]7x^{2}y^{3} +2y^{2}-x[/tex]

Although they don't use devision, you can use division between 2 polynomials. For example:

[tex]\frac{7x^{2}y^{3} +2y^{2}-x}{3x^{3}y^{2}+x^{2} +2y}[/tex]
