To solve:

Add 7 and 5 to find how many “groups” are in the ratio. You get 12.
Then divide 360 by 12 to find out how many buttons there are in each “group”. You get 30.
Then multiply 30 by 5 and by 7 to find out how many buttons John and Susan get.
30x5= 150 so John gets 150 buttons
30x7= 210 so Susan gets 210 buttons
