It's important to know how a person who experienced the oppression feels.

It shows the slave's person point of view, telling you what happens to the slaves all the time. If you were not to have this point of view, people would possibly think slavery is good, unlike to what happened to the slaves. They were abused in a whole lot of ways. Sorry if the answer is bad.
