We have the following expression given:

We can start simplifying the parenthesis and we got:

[tex]-40b-16-\left\lbrack 7b-35\rbrack\right\rbrack [/tex]

And we can distribute the signs :

[tex]-40b-16-7b+35[/tex]

Now we can aggrupate:

[tex](-40b-7b)+(35-16)[/tex]

And if we simplify we got:

[tex]-47b+19[/tex]
