Question:

Solution:

Consider the following functions:

[tex]f(x)\text{ = 7x}[/tex]

and

[tex]g(x)\text{ = x+ 8}[/tex]

Thus, we have the following compositions:

[tex](f\circ g)(x)\text{ = f(g(x)) = 7g(x) = 7(x+8) = 7x +56}[/tex]

and

[tex](g\circ f)(x)\text{ = }g(f(x))\text{ = f(x)+8 = 7x+8}[/tex]

then we can conclude that:

[tex](f\circ g)(x)\text{ = 7x +56}[/tex]

and

[tex](g\circ f)(x)\text{ = }g(f(x))\text{ =7x+8}[/tex]

and both compositions are not the same (does not equal).
