How could a place’s physical features impact its land use and economy?

We have to look at the Topography, which is basically how the land is shaped by mountains, valleys, deserts and rivers. By studying the topography of the route and planning the best way around geographical obstacles you can make roads and railways that are faster and more efficient. Trade routes have been the pillars of economy for centuries and where the trade route is going to go, depends on the physical features of the land.
