Surface area of a cylinder: 2B + Ch
Word form: 2(area of base) + (circumference of base)(height)

Find the numbers you need to plug in to the formula.

Area of base: [tex] \pi [/tex]2² = 12.57 m²

Circumference of base: 2[tex] \pi [/tex]2 = 12.57 m

Height: 12 m

Plug these numbers in to the formula.
2(12.57) + (12.57)(12) = 175.98

The SA of the cylinder is 175.98 m².
